**Important Message**

Hello everyone,
I hope you are all well. I wanted to answer a few questions that have been ask of me several times. I’ve been asked how many years I have been in the convention business? I have worked for or ran successful conventions for over 18 yrs now. It’s something that I truly love to do. I get to see old friends and meet new people every year. The first year we had Con K, we had a cardboard Tardis sitting on the stage. That was it,. It was the only decoration we had to say it was a Doctor Who con. The next year we had a full size Tardis built..we also had the chance to meet Wayne Neumaier who had built a Dalek and was so nice to bring “Braun” to the con. The Tardis and Braun have been the 2 hearts of Con K for 7 yrs now. I love this Con so very much! We have the most Amazing Staff Ever!!!
I’ve been asked.. How big is the Tardis and what are some specials things about it? It stands about 9ft tall, it’s 55ins at the base and weighs about 650 lbs. It is bluetooth ready to play music and has working lights. The lights will change colors and pulsate to the beat of the music, especially during the dance. I think the greatest thing about it is that the inside is full of autographs from every Guest we have had at the con.(except for Sylvester McCoy because we all forgot to ask him) There are also autographs from some of the staff members. Even Kelvin that passed away last June. We had mentioned that we would auction it off when we were going to have a new one built, so keep your eyes open soon for that auction…It will come with the special made trailer customized for towing it. So, start saving your money and keep watching for it go go up for auction Soon. We will have the Tardis setup at the Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo on March 9th & 10,2019. Come by, take pictures in it and look around at the autographs. http://www.hsvexpo.com/

Now on a personal level… I try not to talk about my personal life much but there are things that I want you all to know. My whole life changed on Sept 2nd this past year. My sweet precious daddy had a massive stroke and suddenly passed away 12 days later. Losing him took a large piece of my heart. I was my daddy’s baby girl. My mom is grieving the loss of the love her life after 66 yrs. together. My mom is bed bound and wheelchair bound and he was her primary caregiver. With his passing that made me her caregiver since I live with her. If you have never had to be a primary care giver for a loved one you really can’t understand the stress, exhaustion and hurt it can cause you. Watching your parent fade away alittle more every day is heart breaking and there’s nothing I can do except keep her comfortable, take care of her and make her happy.
As for myself… If you didn’t know, I am completely disabled with two different illnesses. Everything I am going through to take care of my mom has landed me in the ER 4 times in the last 5 months. The drs. say it is the stress and pure exhaustion that is flaring my illnesses and it running my physical and mental health down. The drs. all say that I need to take better care of Me and reduce my stress as much as possible. I’m working on it. Right now, I need to focus on keeping my mom happy and comfortable during her last days however long that may be. I also need to make sure I stay healthy so I can take care of her. I have been so busy taking care of her that I haven’t had my heart or head in the con where it has always been.

After several discussions and a few tears with the other conchairs.. It is with a heavy broken heart that I am announcing that Con Kasterborous 2019 has been cancelled for this year. I am so sorry to everyone that has made plans to attend the con. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone that has supported us and been there for us. Thank to the most Amazing hard working staff Ever!! We will see you soon!
